Zoom - Closed Captioning and Live Transcription
Overview
Closed caption allows the host, another meeting attendee assigned by the host, or an integrated third-party closed captioning service to add closed captioning in a meeting. In a webinar, closed captioning can be typed by the host, co-host, a panelist assigned by the host, or an integrated third-party closed captioning service. Closed captioning can also be viewed while in Zoom Rooms.
If you are unable to provide captioning, Zoom also provides AI-powered live transcription for all paid accounts. This can be enabled by the host, and any participants can view the captioning as needed. Live transcription only supports English and it is recommended that you speak clearly for best results.
- *Note: You can only assign one participant or third-party service to provide closed captioning.
*Note for UWL Zoom accounts: Closed captioning and live transcription service has already been enabled by our admin, so you will not need to unlock and/or enable the feature for your UWL Zoom account within your account settings (see screenshot below).
As a host, you can just click on the "CC Live Transcript" button to select your CC options during a Zoom meeting (see screenshot below).
