Navigate360: Adding categories to your calendar that will not sync to Navigate360
Often, faculty may have times blocked on their calendars for student hours or advising hours so that their colleagues do not schedule meetings during those times, but they still want students to be a able to make appointments with them during that time. Utilizing a no sync category will help with this.
Microsoft Outlook Desktop App
- Open the Outlook Desktop App
- Open your calendar
- Locate the block of time on your calendar that you are looking to set to not sync with your Navigate360 availability. Or, create a new block of time if one does not already exist.
- Right click on the block, find Categorize and hover over that on the menu to expand to see your categories, click "All Categories"

- A new dialogue window will open, Click New... to create a new category.

- Give the category the name "nosync" you can choose a color and a shortcut key if you would like to. Click OK.

- Make sure that the "nosync" category box is clicked for the block of time, and click OK.

- This block of time will now show as available to students in Navigate360 if you have set your availability to allow for appointments to be scheduled during this time. You can then apply this category to all other blocks you would like blocked in Outlook but free in Navigate360.
