Stellic - Advisor Guide – Stellic Display Options

Instructions on how to navigate, filter, and customize student degree audit reports in Stellic covering audit progress views, display format options, and account-level display and accessibility settings

Note: Optional accessibility settings are included under the Settings section.

Official vs Planned Degree Audit

Select a student and scroll down to the "Progress" section. At the top of the "Progress" section, on the left, are two degree audit report options. The default option is set to Official. This option resets to Official each time you leave the student and come back to them.

You can view your advisee's degree progress in two ways:

  • Official Audit Progress: shows only classes already taken or registered. This is the default view.

  • Planned Audit Progress: shows both courses already taken or registered and also the classes the student has planned out from the "Plans" tab. If a What If plan was created on the "Plan" tab, it can also be viewed here if the Planned option and correct What if Plan is selected on the right.

Audit Format/Display Options

In Stellic, requirements do not collapse when satisfied. (Requirements are sometimes called constraints in Stellic.) Whether or not a section is satisfied is determined by the color and type of icon. Whether or not a section collapses is controlled by one of the below views.

Select a student and scroll down to the "Progress" section. At the top of the "Progress" section, on the right, is a button that defaults to Full Audit.

  • Full Audit: This option lets you see the required courses easily and is the default format. The "fulfill all" type requirements are expanded so you can see the required courses. The other requirements are automatically collapsed. Other requirements may be elective options or GPA requirements. Click on the grey box after the requirement title to see more details.

  • Compact: All requirements are collapsed.
  • Remaining: This view shows only the requirements that the student has remaining, by program
  • Unplanned: Only appears when on the Planned version of the audit. Only shows remaining requirements but will also exclude requirements satisfied by planned.
  • Expanded audit: Expands all requirements and constraints of the audit.
  • All Remaining: This view shows only the requirements that the student has remaining but does not say the requirement titles or to which program the requirement belongs.
  • All Unplanned: Only appears when on the Planned version of the audit. This view shows remaining requirements but does not say the requirement titles or to which program the requirement belongs. Requirements satisfied by planned courses are also excluded.

Settings

Settings under your individual profile can change some defaults, including accessibility. Navigate to the icon with your initials and click on it. Select Settings. Note: Changing settings here changes it on all the students you view, but only in your account.

Audit view settings that may be helpful

  • Progress Display View: to change the default from Courses to Credits. That affects what number comes up first when you hover over the project bar. Both Courses and Credits are displayed in the information, but this option changes the order.
  • Student Audit View (format): select the default format of the audit. If you are always changing the view on the audit, this may save you some time. The only options for a default are Full Audit, Compact, and Unplanned. See descriptions above.

We don't recommend changing the other audit view settings at this time since it may make things look too different from what your advisee sees.

Web Accessibility settings

The High Contract option assists you to see colors better. The Better Interaction setting assists in providing a text equivalent for every non-text element and any information conveyed with color is also available without color. Select the checkbox to turn on the setting.
