Printing - Student Printing - Pay for Print

Learn how to use the Pay for Print system to print documents on campus at UW-La Crosse. This article covers printing costs for both black and white and color printing, how to print from a UWL computer or your personal device using Web Print, how to add funds to your account, and where to find printers across campus including Student Union, Centennial Hall, Murphy Library, Prairie Springs Science Center, and Wittich Hall.

General Info

The Pay for Print system allows students to print documents at various locations across campus. You can print from a UWL computer or your own personal device.

Printing from a UWL Computer

This applies to computers in ITS Classrooms, Murphy Library, and department labs. There are two printers to choose from:

Printer Name Single-Sided Double-Sided (Duplex)
All Student Black and White Printing $0.05 per page $0.045 per page
All Student Color Printing $0.60 per page $0.595 per page

Once you send a print job, it will be held in a queue. Visit any release station on campus to release it to the printer. At the release station, swipe your student ID or enter your NetID and password to view, print, or cancel your pending jobs.

Note: You can release a black and white print job to a color printer and still be charged the black and white rate. However, you cannot release a color print job to a black and white printer.

Printing from a Personal Device

Use Web Print to send jobs from your own device. There are four printer options:

Choosing a Duplex printer will automatically print on both sides of the paper at a reduced cost.

Student Union

  • 1st Floor (near the Info Counter) — Color Multi-function printer (print, scan, email)

Centennial Hall

  • 1st Floor — Color Multi-function printer (print, scan, email)

Murphy Library

  • Basement — Black & White Multi-function printer (print, scan, email)
  • 1st Floor — 2 Black & White Multi-function printers, 1 Color Multi-function printer (print, scan, email)
  • 2nd Floor — Black & White Multi-function printer (print, scan, email)

Prairie Springs Science Center

  • 1st Floor — Color Multi-function printer (print, scan, email)

Wittich Hall

  • Lower Level (near the vending machines) — Black & White Multi-function printer (print, scan, email)
