File Storage - Online and Local
Overview of online file storage options available to UWL faculty, staff, and students, including Microsoft OneDrive and Google Drive, with access links and setup resources.
ITS provides the following options for faculty, staff, and students to store and access files online.
Microsoft OneDrive (Recommended)
- Secure web-based storage accessible anywhere
- Automatic file backup and version history
- Syncs across devices with the OneDrive app

Google Drive
- Provides 30 GB of storage per user
- Easy collaboration and sharing with Google Workspace tools
- Real-time editing and automatic version control
- Accessible from any device
- Access: drive.uwlax.edu (opens in new tab)
Best Practice: Store your important files in OneDrive or Google Drive rather than only on your local device. This protects your work from hardware failure and allows access from anywhere.
