Password Reset Changes

Information Technology Services (ITS) is upgrading our password management system to provide you with better security and easier account management through our centralized Okta platform.
What's changing: Starting July 21st, we're replacing the current password reset page with Okta's built-in password reset feature for improved security and streamlined access to all your campus applications.
About the Okta Dashboard: The Okta dashboard (https://myapps.uwlax.edu) is your central hub for accessing campus applications and managing your account. When you log in, you'll see all the applications you have access to, including email, learning management systems, and other campus resources. The dashboard provides single sign-on capabilities, meaning once you're logged in, you can access multiple applications without re-entering your password. You can also customize your dashboard by reordering tiles to prioritize your most-used applications. Please note: The custom reordering of tiles will reset when a global change by ITS is needed to be made to the dashboard.
Action Required by July 21st: Please verify that you have a second email address listed as a secondary email in your Okta account:
- Go to https://myapps.uwlax.edu and log in
- Click on your name/profile in the top right corner

Select "Settings"
- Verify your secondary email address is current and accessible
- If you need to add or update your secondary email, do so now
Note: If you don't have a secondary email set up, you won't be able to reset your password if you forget it.
How the New Password Reset Works:
- Go to https://myapps.uwlax.edu

Click "Forgot Password" at the bottom of the login page
- Follow the prompts to reset your password using your secondary email
- The process remains straightforward while providing enhanced security
Additional Password Options: You can also change your password directly through the Okta dashboard by logging into https://myapps.uwlax.edu and accessing your account settings.
Transition Period: The old password reset site will remain available temporarily while we transition, but we encourage you to start using the new Okta system right away.
