Using the Document Camera in an Online Course
This article describes what software to use with different brands of document cameras in the classroom. The software allows the document camera to appear on the computer's desktop. This allows the document camera to be shared as content during a video conference using a synchronous video platform such as Collaborate Ultra, Webex, Zoom or Teams.
Document cameras are connected to the instructor computer in the classrooms. An app is available on the PC desktop that will display the doc cam content in real time. This allows the document camera to be seen on the computer's desktop. The document camera then can be shared as content during a video conference -- Collaborate Ultra, Zoom, Webex, Teams -- or if you are using a software lecture capture solution such as Kaltura Capture or the Mediasite Desktop Recorder.
The app that you use is unique to the brand of the document camera. See the images below. To use, power up the document camera and then open the app.
