Canvas - New rich Content Editor comparison to Classic
On January 1st, 2021, the New Rich Content Editor (RCE) will be turned on at UWL for all users and courses. The new RCE has a document editing feel to it with Edit, View, Insert, Format, Tools, and Table at the top. This update also includes a change to the location of some tools and a new feature that allows you to work in full screen.

As you can see from the above images, one of the biggest changes is the right column. The Classic RCE had course Links, Files and Images located in that right column. Now to access these, you locate them from within the top tool bar either by using the insert button or by finding the link, document, or image icons.

Another big change is that there is no longer a "Blue V" for adding integrated apps (YouTube, Vimeo, My Media, Etc.). Instead you can find these apps by clicking on Tools and navigating to Apps or by clicking the plug icon in the toolbar.

You can now find the Accessibility Checker icon in the bottom right corner below the large text box.
There are now two ways you can toggle the HTML editor. Either by going through View or finding the </> icon in the bottom right corner below the large text box. You can toggle back with same icon (</>).
To toggle fullscreen, either go through View or finding double arrow icon in the bottom right corner below the large text box. You can toggle back by going through View again or by clicking ESC on your keyboard.
