HR employee resources - Employee onboarding program - Supervisor access to monitor onboarding activity

This article will walk a supervisor through the steps of viewing the onboarding status of their employee. Please note, supervisors will also receive a trigger email inviting them to review a document that has been completed by HR which displays the Employee ID, NetID, and email address of new employees.

For supervisors who wish to monitor the status of their new or returning employee's onboarding status, please follow these steps:

Step 1: Log into PeopleAdmin

  • Log in through the direct web link: and use your UWL Credentials. 

  • Next, click on the three dots in the upper left corner.  Select "Employee Records"


Step 2 - Click on "Reports" and then, "Checklist Completion":


Step 3 - Select the correct checklist.  

Checklists are named based on the type of classification and if a background check or I-9 are required. The checklists are specific to the activity that is occurring in the employee's onboarding so the employee is seeing only items in their checklist that pertain to them and so that HR can ensure all information is collected for personnel file (p-file) retention and entry into the Human Resources Information System, (HRS).  Below is a listing of which numerical series represents which employment classification:

Supervisors may need to navigate between one or more checklists before they see their new employee.  For non-student employees, your Human Resources Partner will help you identify which checklist(s) are being assigned so you can follow the onboarding status. (Please note, the future state of this notification will be an email from the system letting you know which checklist was assigned).


Step 4 - View the onboarding tasks that had been assigned to your employee.  A green "check" means they have completed the task.  


Additional information:

  • For new employees, you may need to review several checklists, including "set-up", "benefits", or "first day activities".
  • As a supervisor, for non-student employees, you will receive a task in your own list, (as seen below) for when the email, NetID, and employee
