HR employee resources - PeopleAdmin Applicant Tracking - Supervisor/Chair - Recommending a candidate for hire
This article will provide a step-by-step guide for the Level 1 (supervisor or Search Chair) to initiate the recommendation to hire.
When a search committee has finalized its recommendations for hire, the Search Chair and the Supervisor will meet to discuss which candidate should be recommended for hire. While the actual conversation and deliberation may occur outside of the PeopleAdmin system, it is required that the final result be recorded and approved using the PeopleAdmin process for recommending a candidate for hire and then ultimately completing the hiring details, which will be used to produce the appointment document.
Use the following guide to initiate a recommendation to hire.
Step 1 - Log in to PeopleAdmin
Step 2 - Navigate to your Recruitment
When you have logged into PeopleAdmin, you will be brought to your Dashboard. Select "Recruitments" from the top menu.
When you have clicked, "Recruitments", you will be asked if you would like to view "Staff/Administrative" positions OR "Faculty/Instructional". Select the most relevant classification for your Recruitment.
When you have made the selection, you will be brought to the "Recruitment Dashboard". It is in this view that you can view all of the searches for which you have had access. It will display previous searches, as well as current, active searches. If you do not have any current or past Recruitments, this screen will not show any details.
Select the recruitment for which you wish to view the applicants. Click on the "Actions" button and select "View Recruitment".
Step 3 - Navigate to view the applicants in your Recruitment
To view the applicants for your position, select the tab labeled "Applicants" from the top of the shaded area.
Step 4 - Individually select the candidate(s)
To request begin the recommendation to hire, you will need to individually select the candidate from the applicant pool. Select either the name of the candidate or select the "Actions" label in the far right column and select "View Application".
Step 5 - Initiate the Recommendation to Hire
To begin the process of hiring, select "Take Action on Job Application" in the upper right corner of the applicant's profile page. Select "Initiate Request for Hire".
You will be presented with a pop-up box that will ask you to submit your selection.
Once you have clicked submit, the recommendation will be routed to the Level 2 approver. You will be notified when the approval for "Extending the Offer" has been made.
