HR employee resources - PeopleAdmin Applicant Tracking - Supervisor/Chair - Approving a recommendation to hire
This article provides an overview of how the recommendation to hire approvals are processed
This overview will provide all of the steps in the recommend to hire process that a Level 2 (Dean/Director) and/or a Level 3 (Vice Chancellor) will need to act on in PeopleAdmin to extend an offer to a candidate for employment.
You will receive an email notification asking you to take action on the recommendation to hire and be asked to log into the PeopleAdmin system.
Step 1 - Log in to PeopleAdmin
First, log in to PeopleAdmin. You can access the webpage directly from the email notification or you can log in from this information: use this resource for assistance or guidance on how to log into PeopleAdmin. The direct login link for accessing the program is https://employment.uwlax.edu/hr.
Step 2 - Review the Hiring Details Tab of your Inbox
After logging into PeopleAdmin, your dashboard will have an item waiting in your "Hiring Details" inbox. Select that tab and click on the title of the Recruitment.
You will be taken to the Applicant's Summary page, where you can review all of the information that they had submitted for the position to which they are being recommended for hire. You can view the documents they submitted by clicking on the "Documents" tab in the shaded area. This will contain the Resume/CV, Cover Letter, and Reference List.
When you have reviewed the information regarding the candidate's credentials and materials, you can return to the Summary tab and select from the "Take Action on Job Application" button in the upper right corner and advance the recommendation to your Level 2 approver - Dean/Director.
Step 2 - Level 2 determination on Level 3 approval
At Level 2, you have a decision point - to send the recommendation to Level 3 (Vice Chancellor) or to approve the recommendation and allow for the supervisor to extend the offer. If the Recruitment has an actual, annual salary of $50,000 or more, it requires Level 3 approval If it is below that amount, you may approve the recommendation.
You can view whether the Level 3 option is selected as either Yes or No in the full Recruitment for the position, found in the Budget Information section.
An email notice will be sent to the Level 1 and Supervisor users when the approvals have been completed, letting them know they can extend the offer and begin the hiring details.
