How to upgrade to the latest macOS

Backup your files to OneDrive or to an external drive (see https://kb.uwlax.edu/search.php?q=backup)

Read the message you receive and follow the steps accordingly.

Option 1 (Intel Processor)

Continue with the following steps if Option 2:

The install should then begin and provide an estimate of time and restart accordingly.

If the following message appears, Quit and follow the steps below

Backup your files to OneDrive or to an external drive (see https://kb.uwlax.edu/search.php?q=backup)

Start a new Admin By Request session and request admin rights.

Open System Preferences > Software Update

Upgrade Now

Upgrade

Approve

An estimate of time will be provided.

Time Remaining

Follow any additional onscreen prompts.
