Okta - Okta Verify App Setup (Windows & macOS)

How to setup Okta Verify on a Windows or macOS device.

Important

Okta Verify (FastPass) on Windows and macOS only grants access on the computer that Okta Verify is installed on. It is necessary to use the Okta Verify App (iOS or Android) or a Yubikey to gain access to Okta protected apps on other devices.


Download and Install Okta Verify (Choose one of the options below)

UWL Owned (Windows)

Open Software Center and search for and Install Okta Verify, or download

Install Okta Verify from the Mac App Store https://apps.apple.com/us/app/okta-verify/id490179405

 

Once installed, Open Okta Verify

Make sure https://myapps.uwlax.edu is entered, Next

https://myapps.uwlax.edu

Enter NetId or Email in the browser window that opens, Next

NetID

Enter Password

Password

When one or more Security Methods (devices) are already setup on your account, you will be prompted to verify with one of them.

If this is the first device you are setting you you will receive "Your identity is verified" right away, close the browser tab

Verified

When prompted to Set up Windows Hello (on PC), select "Not now" if on a UWL-owned computer.

In the Okta Verify app, click your account name

Account Name

Setup is finished

Done
