Okta - Okta Verify App Setup (Windows & macOS)

How to setup Okta Verify on a Windows or macOS device.
⚠️ Important: Okta Verify (FastPass) on Windows and macOS only grants access on the computer where it's installed. To access Okta-protected apps on other devices, use the Okta Verify mobile app (iOS/Android) or a Yubikey.

Download and Install Okta Verify (Choose one of the options below)

UWL Owned (Windows)

Open Software Center and search for and Install Okta Verify, or download Okta

Click here to install Okta Verify from Software Center

UWL Owned (Mac)

Install Okta Verify from Self Service Click here to install Okta Verify from Self Service

Click here to install Okta Verify from the App Store

Personally Owned (Windows)

Download then install Okta Verify from Click here for the Okta Verify installer for Windows.

Personally Owned (Mac)

Install Okta Verify from the Mac App Store Click here for the Okta Verify installer for mac

 

Once installed, Open Okta Verify

Get Started

Make sure the New Account field has https://myapps.uwlax.edu entered, and click Next

Enter NetId or Email in the browser window that opens, Next

When one or more Security Methods (devices) are already setup on your account, you will be prompted to verify with one of them.

If this is the first device you are setting you you will receive "Your identity is verified" right away, close the browser tab

When prompted to Set up Windows Hello (on PC), select "Not now" if on a UWL-owned computer.

In the Okta Verify app, click your account name

Setup is finished

With Okta Verify (FastPass) setup on a macOS or Windows computer, choose the following option when signing in:
