Canvas - How do I update expiring Mediasite video links to the migrated Kaltura video links?

This guide is to assist with locating Mediasite links in your Canvas courses and how to replace them with the new video link in Kaltura (My Media).

Locating Mediasite Video Links

If you don't remember where all your Mediasite videos are located in a course, you may be able to use the Atomic Search tool to search for the terms: "Mediasite" or "mymedia" if you didn't delete these terms when adding the videos to your course.

Otherwise, you will need to go through each page, module, assignment, etc to find every video to replace.

Replacing with new Kaltura Link

If you are replacing the video in a page, discussion, assignment, etc with the Rich Content Editor bar; you will locate the new video link either with the plug icon in the toolbar and selecting My Media or by selecting the Tools dropdown in the toolbar > Apps > My Media.

Once you select My Media, a pop-up screen will appear with access to the videos you have uploaded. Locate the video you want on the page and select Embed

If you are replacing a link in a module, you'll have to create a page in Canvas first, and then you can follow the steps above to embed videos. This allows you to add textual context to your videos. Why are students watching the video? Or what should they be looking to get out of it? Follow-up questions for them to think about after watching it.
