This is the process to reset your password if it's forgotten, expired, or you just need to change it.

If off-campus on your work computer, connect to the VPN first: Click this link to see VPN install options

Here's an install guide if using a personal machine off-campus: Click this link for the VPN install guide

Sign out of your email on the web-based email - click the profile icon in the upper right (or lower left), and Sign Out.  Alternatively, open a new Incognito Window in Chrome, or new Private window in Firefox/Safari, new InPrivate window in Edge.  Then sign into Wings from the homepage, or paste this direct link into the address bar in the Incognito/Private window: https://wings.uwlax.edu/ - or right-click the following link and "Open In Incognito Window" - Right-click this link and Open in Incognito (or Private) window

Enter your UW email and click next:

Click Send Me an Email - this will also send to your alternate email address in Okta.  See this KB for adding a secondary email into the Okta system: Click this link to enter an alternate email address

Check your UW or secondary email address that you added to Okta*.  There will be a password reset link in that email (also check junk mail).  Alternatively, you can also click Enter a Verification Code Instead to view this code in the web browser, instead of getting it from the email:

Enter the code from the previous step, or from the email:

Here is the email from Okta.  It will be from noreply@okta.com.  Check your junk mail folder if it's not in the inbox.  (Skip the next two steps if you got the code from the login window):

Note the code in the email, or click Reset Password to show the code in your web browser - it will open in a new window/tab:

After entering the code, it will ask for the Okta MFA step:

Then create a new password:

To sync up your department laptop (both mac and PC) with this new password, get on the Eagle wifi or hard-wired ethernet, and go under the Apple Menu -> Lock Screen (mac), or press Ctrl + Alt + Del, and lock screen (PC).  Then unlock screen with new password.
