Password Reset Help - Remotely Changing Your Password on a UWL-Owned PC or Mac

Steps to take when changing your password on your UWL-owned PC or Mac while working off-campus.

To ensure the smoothest password change with your UWL-owned computer/device while working off-campus, please use the following steps below:

UWL-Owned PC/Windows
  1. Connect to the VPN called "Cisco AnyConnect" on your device.
  2. Go to the password reset page at and change your password.
  3. Lock your PC with "Lock" (or with the Windows Logo key + L) and then sign in using your newly created password to sync your PC's login password.

UWL-Owned Mac
  1. Connect to the VPN called "Cisco AnyConnect" on your device.
  2. Connect and use the pre-installed application called "Enterprise Connect" on your Mac to change your password.
    • *Important Note: DO NOT use the password reset page to change your password with your UWL-owned Mac, unless you are dealing with an expired or forgotten password.
  3. Lock your Mac with "Lock Screen" (or with control + command + Q) and then sign in using your newly created password to sync your Mac's login password.

*Important Note
  • To help prevent soft lockouts after a password change, it is advised to:
    • Clear your web browsers' "all time" history, cache and cookies
    • Update or clear out any "saved" passwords for your UWL accounts on your device(s).
      • These could include: keychains (Mac-only) that use your credentials for UWL-based services, your web browsers' saved passwords that you use to access UWL-based services, and any saved passwords within UWL applications that are downloaded onto your device (like Office 365).
