Connecting Personal Devices to UWL-Guest Wi-Fi (MyDevices Portal)
What Devices Should (and Shouldn't) Be Registered?
Before you start, make sure you're connected to UWL Wi-fi (UWL-Eagle or UWL-Guest) and your device belongs on this portal!
Note: If this is a UWL-owned device, please contact the Eagle Help Desk for assistance.
DO Register These Devices:
- Gaming Consoles (PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch)
- Smart TVs (Roku TV, Samsung, LG, Fire TV, etc.)
- Streaming Devices (Roku Stick, Apple TV, Fire TV Stick)
- Amazon Smart Devices (Alexa, Echo, Echo Dot)
DO NOT Register These Devices:
Note: Laptops, phones, and tablets should always connect directly to UWL-Eagle using your NetID and password.
- Computers (Laptops, Desktops, MacBooks)
- Phones (iPhones, Android Phones)
- Tablets (iPads, Microsoft Surfaces)
- Campus-owned devices or equipment

8. Click Submit.

9. Connect your device to the UWL-Guest Wi-Fi network!
Important Tips & Troubleshooting
- Ignore "Pending" Status: Don't panic if your device status stays listed as Pending. This is normal and will not affect your device's ability to connect to the network.
- Make sure it’s the Wireless MAC Address: Many consoles and TVs have two MAC addresses—one for Wi-Fi (Wireless/WLAN) and one for an Ethernet cable (LAN). Make sure you are registering the Wireless MAC address.
- Turn off "Private Wi-Fi Address" / "Randomized MAC": Some newer smart devices or OS updates randomize MAC addresses for privacy. Ensure this setting is turned OFF in your device's Wi-Fi settings for UWL-Guest, or your registration won't match your device.
- Restart Your Device: If your device doesn't connect immediately after submitting, restart the device and try reconnecting to UWL-Guest.
- Adding More Devices: You can repeat steps 4 through 8 for any additional devices you bring to campus.
