Navigate: Student Tags

Tags for students in Navigate.

Tags are short text labels that staff and faculty can apply to students. They are frequently used to create ad-hoc lists of students for issues that are not accounted for in other methods of groups students within the Navigate system.

When a tag is assigned to a student, it can be viewed on the student's profile, through the Advanced Search feature, and within analytics reports. Tags are visible to anyone who can view the student's information on the student's profile page: Navigate: Student Profile

Tag Names

Tags are used to easily identify a population of students with a shared attribute or to assist the university in tracking a student's enrollment status. One use of Tags at UWL is to track student's enrollment dates. reg5.03.21 would indicate that a student's registration date was May 3, 2021. If the student's misses their initial registration date, they would then have a noreg5.03.21 tag as well. These tags are used to send registration text reminders to students.

If you see a tag and are unsure what it means or if you should be using it, email navigate@uwlax.edu for help.
