Canvas - How do I use the Classic Rich Content Editor?

Several features in Canvas support a Rich Content Editor, including Announcements, Assignments, Discussions, Pages, Quizzes, and Syllabus. You can type text and you can copy and paste text from other sources into the Rich Content Editor. The Rich Content Editor also supports embedded images, YouTube videos, hyperlinks, links to other course content, tables, equations, and other features.

*The New Rich Content Editor will be turned on for all users/courses January 1st, 2021. If you would like to start using it sooner, you can enable through your course settings. For an introduction to this new feature, review How do I use the menubar in the New Rich Content Editor?
